Why #TeamTFAE?

There are many worthy organizations you can donate to during BayouGives.
We'd love for you to consider TFAE. Below are just a few reasons why our volunteers, donors,
and local teachers are #TeamTFAE and why they encourage you to join them!
"I’m #TeamTFAE because I believe in public education and in the power of a few committed and concerned individuals to effect powerful change within their community.  Just from that humble assumption and beginning, look at the results we have delivered: more than $1,000,000 directly into classrooms and over 8,000 children receiving Imagination Library books in our community."

- Sheri Roach, TFAE Board Member and Volunteer
"I have been participating in the TFAE 5K Run for Excellence since the beginning, and I have such a great time every year. As a teacher, I know the money raised is going back to education so that alone is reason enough to volunteer. The 5k event gives me the opportunity to hang out with other teachers from my school and teachers from all over the parish who I have taught with in the past or gotten to know through conferences. It is like a big teachers' reunion. If you are considering volunteering or participating in this event, register today."
- Lana Dancer, TPSD Teacher and TFAE 5K Run Volunteer
"I'm #TeamTFAE because TFAE has opened doors for my students in new and exciting ways time and time again. As a new teacher, the new teacher grant gave me the opportunity to expand my basic classroom supplies and create opportunities for creativity and organization.  In 2015, we became a 1:1 tech classroom and we saw the end of limited informational resources within the classroom. My students have had incredible opportunities to collaborate and grow through the use of Chromebooks in the classroom.  In 2018, we were able to venture outside of our classroom to experience the magic of live theater at Tulane University.  This was a chance that many of my students would never have had otherwise and it made the literature come alive once we returned to school.  TFAE has changed the landscape of my classroom time and time again.  I am so grateful for their support of public schools in Terrebonne Parish."

Katy Ledet, TPSD Teacher and TFAE Grant Recipient
"I'm #TeamTFAE because I like that TFAE New Teacher Grants give first time teachers a 'leg up' in getting their classrooms in shape for their students. Also, because the TFAE 5K Run for Excellence and Food Fest is the BEST event! Don't miss this year's 5K on May 11th in downtown Houma!"

George Robichaux, TFAE Board Member and 5K Race Coordinator
